By the age of 8, Dr. Laura Sundmark knew she wanted to be a dentist, and shaped her high school and college career to support that goal. Her vision was realized when she graduated from the UNC School of Dentistry at Chapel Hill in May of 2021, recognized for her outstanding technical skills.
Dr. Sundmark loves to learn as well as continue to advance her technical skills. She started her post-graduate dental education while still in dental school by participating in courses at the work renowned Pakey Institute in Key Biscayne, FL. Dr. Sundmark is an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA), North Carolina Dental Society (NCDS), Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), and International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI).
She is also a part of several small group local study clubs (The Central Carolina Dental Continuum, and a Pankey Study Club).
Dr. Sundmark truly believes in relationship-based dentistry. She is passionate about helping patients truly understand what is going on in their mouth and helping patients make educated decisions for themselves
Raised in Stillwater, MN, Dr. Sundmark played ice hockey along with many other winter snow sports. She moved to North Carolina in 2012 to follow her passion for dentistry. She lives in Fayetteville with her husband, Scott. Scott is stationed at Fort Liberty as an Army infantry officer with 16+ years of active duty service. When Dr. Sundmark isn’t working and helping patients improve their oral health, she enjoys traveling, working out, hunting, fishing, wake surfing, snowboarding, cooking, attending Woodpecker baseball games, watching the Hurricanes, and cheering on Carolina “GO HEELS!”
